Congratulations to colleague Craig Parry who has been declared one of Australasia’s top CEOs by Finance Monthly magazine for 2014.

The international magazine’s annual CEO Survey looked for individuals globally who had shown strategic foresight and leadership to deliver superior performance, who had effectively managed all stakeholders and who had prepared their organization for the next phase of growth.

Craig ticked all the boxes with Tigers Realm Coal (ASX: TIG).

In doing so he joins a select list of four Australasians who won this award for 2014: Telstra boss David Thodey, Ian Lynas of Bis Industries and IAG’s Mike Wilkins.

That puts Craig in pretty good company – and he deserves to be.

As the editors of Finance Monthly noted: At a time when market interest in resource developers is muted, Tigers Realm, under Craig Parry’s guidance, has been able to attract $53m in international institutional investment for its Amaam and Amaam North coking coal projects.

Craig himself notes in the subsequent interview with FM that these projects in Pacific Russia are close to shipping ports and close to the major Asian steel markets. His objective is to create a large-scale, low cost coking coal producer and exporter.

He has moved Tigers Realm Coal significantly in that direction. As one of the company founders he deserves credit for having identified the potential of the twin Amaam deposits, acquiring them and for bringing them to this advanced point despite a difficult market environment. He gets even more points for now having positioned the company to complete the journey.

Craig’s success comes as no surprise to those of us who have worked with him over the years. We have been teammates at Oxiana and G-Resources as well as at Tigers Realm. It is great to see his talent and achievements now recognized globally.

Well done Craig and TIG!
